Community Bank in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), is pleased to announce that Community Connection of Northeast Oregon’s (CCNO) Housing Resource Center(Opens in a new Window) received a $24,000 grant from the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund.

The Importance of Verification Codes
You've probably received an email or text message in the past stating something similar to "Your one time passcode is..." followed by a series of numbers. This code is known as a verification code. It's a form of two-factor authentication which adds an extra layer of security to your account beyond a typical password. This helps to keep would-be scammers and hackers out.

2023 Change For Charity Drive Raises Over $29,000! 

The annual Community Bank Charity Drive was conducted in Community Bank’s branch locations during November 28th through December 20th.  The program is an effort to collect donations in communities to benefit charities in that same area.

The first inkling that Father Time might be hot on my heels occurred about a month ago. I was catching myself leaning back whenever I began reading something, so I decided to go to the optometrist and get my eyes checked out. After the standard, “which is better: one or two, two or three” rigamarole, the doc declared that I needed reading glasses. Yep, cheaters.

Annual Program Surpasses $150,000 Awarded to Local Students for Good Grades
2023 marked the thirteenth year of Community Bank’s annual Earn While You Learn program. The program paid out over $15,000 to 390 student-customers in the Eastern Oregon and Southeast Washington area.

The past few days have been quite eventful in the banking world. The failures of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), in Santa Clara, California and Signature Bank, in New York City, have created a sense of uncertainty for many consumers across the nation. 
 
Over the weekend, the Department of the Treasury, along with federal banking regulators announced steps they have taken to protect the depositors of these institutions. SVB and Signature Bank were both highly specialized banks, targeting deposits from technology and cryptocurrency industries, respectively
